I recently picked up a Taurus 327, and noticed that the barrel appears to be crowned to a square edge. Does anybody know if this is typical. Accuracy seems OK with the first 24 shots, definitely has some whomp! Your thoughts on crowning with the brass round head screw/valve lapping compound now, or wait till I invariably nick the square crown that exists. I shortened a 22 rifle barrel and the homemade crowning trick works well. Thanks

If it works don't fix it.

I would run a cotton Q-Tip in, out, and around the present crown.

If there are any burs or hanging chads, they will snag up some cotton fibers you can see.

Only if I found something would I mess with it.
