Taurus .38 question

I have a Taurus .38 revolver that has been "put away" for about 20 years. The gun functions fine but I have a ammo question. The gun is a 5 shot revolver, 2" bbl. There is no model number on the gun, it is marked Cal .38 Special, it has a "concealed" hammer. The question - Can this gun handle +P loads? I cannot find any info on the Taurus web site.

The only definite answer is to call Taurus and give them the serial number.

However, since it isn't marked "+P" on the barrel then it probably shouldn't be shot with them.

I'm not awake this morning...............I just called them and got the info, NO +P!!!!
