I recently purchased a Taurus 44mag in the Ultralite Titanium model. After about 200 rds, I have to say that I am very impressed. Its light, accurate, and not unpleasant to shoot. Its primary use is back-up carry during hunting season so weight was important. I fired both 44 Special and 44 Mag through it. The 44 Special was suprisingly light in recoil, the 44 Mag gets your attention but is not unmanageable and is even more accurate. Some family and friends also shot it and were equally impressed. The standard rubber grip is excellent at absorbing and distributting recoil. At 28 oz, its easy to carry, even though its a 4 inch.

Interesting. How much did it set you back, if I might ask? I've been eyeing that Taurus Titanium Tracker in .41 mag for a while now. I think it'd be worth getting into a new caliber for. I think it's about 24 ounces with a 4 inch barrel. I've always thought a .41 would be cool and it could do double duty as an IWB CCW.

$490 out the door. I also like the idea of a 41 Mag, I almost went that route. In fact I may think about getting one based on how much I like the 44. If you find a good deal let me know.
