So I’ve bought 3 different wooden grip sets for my model 65. None fit. I have a circa 1993 Taurus model 65 2 1/2” barrel 357 mag. It came with wooden stocks which have long been misplaced. It has a pachmayr rubber one piece on it but I want to put wood back on it. It is definitely different than the new Taurus 65 models. It has a round butt frame. Anyone have a set or know where I can find replacements? There is a locator pin in the bottom rear of the frame that the grip panel is attached and the back strap is exposed. This is a pic of what I’m looking for. IMG_4104.jpeg

I'll keep an eye out matey

It's called Robertson's Ranch, I think. They're on GB and I think have their own site. They've had NOS Taurus grips for me several times. I know that I've gotten grips from them with the pin in the rear corner like that.

The ones I’m looking for look like these. They leave the whole frame exposed. Won’t be fun to shoot with full house loads, but I like the way they look.

I had one like that at one time, but I'm not sure now if it was a round or square butt. It had the rounded Taurus "target" grips that I consider to be one of the most comfortable handgun grips I ever used.

I'm no help with finding any now though. Sorry.

Have you looked on Ebay? Sometimes you can find oddball grips that are used or NOS.

Poop. I had a house fire in July and lost a lot of stuff. I probably had a set of those that I could have just mailed you. I'll keep my eyes open, though. I might have a random bag o' grips still rattling around here somewhere...

I have been looking on eBay but no luck yet. Sorry for your loss, hopefully everything is turning out okay.

For being a snub nose the thing shoots better than it should. I also would put the trigger up against any of my S&W revolvers…well most of them anyway.

I'm glad they worked for you! :)

Don't recall for sure which revolver those came from.

The possibilities are Model 66 from the mid/late 80's, Model 689 or Model 82 from1990, and Model 82 from 2000.

I’m going to guess it was the model 66. The one I have is a 1991 model 65.

Probably. I'm remembering that it couldn't be either of the Model 82's. One was LNiB with zero grip wear, and one came with huge black rubber grips.

They're either from a Model 66 made in the mid/late 80's from a friend who hadn't shot it much, or a Model 689 from 1990 that was also lightly used when I bought it in 2000. They cost me $200 apiece. IIRC.

Use it in good health. They're underrated revolvers. I've had one or another Taurus medium frame revolver as my HD weapon for most of my adult life. :)

I’ve had this one for 25 years or so, I got it from my uncle that never shot it. It was and is in great shape. He was 6’6” 360# had hands like a bear paw. So he put rubber Houge’s on it. They actually work really well for my small hands I just like the look of the wood. With a little luck it will get above 40 up here and I can do some shooting.
