I'm wanting a .22 revolver and I think that a "snubnose" .22 is neat.

Anyone with experance with the Taurus 94 and Charter's Pathfinder? I heard good and bad with these guns.

I've owned a couple of the Taurus 94's (still own one of the two) . It is getting better with every box of shells it shoots. Can't complain

I have no experience with the Charter.

edit : The 94 is a bit stiff out of the box - particularly the DA pull. It smooths up with shooting and a little lighter trigger spring also helps. Don't drop to a lighter hammer spring though if you want reliable ignition.

I have a 5" 94 and am very satisfied. Especially so after installing a set of Wolff reduced power springs. Easy to work with, easy to clean, and accurate.

My early Charter Bulldog was a nice wheelgun, but it's still laying on my bench in pieces since I can't get it put back together after doing a complete tear-down and cleaning. I just can't seem to get the trigger rebound spring pre-loaded like it has to be before pinning it back into the frame. I understand that all Charter's are designed and manufactured this way. Nick, from the factory, replied to my email with his telephone number to call him and he would walk me through it, but I haven't yet had a free moment during their business hours to call them long distance. :(

THanks guys. Did you have any problems with the guns binding up after shooting so many rounds?

I've got a 94 I'm not very happy with.:(

5" blued model, cylinder lockup is dangerous on it. Haven't sent it in to taurus yet (completely my fault).

Edited to add:

Get a ruger 22/45 or something like that instead. I love wheelguns and DA guns in particular, but nobody out there makes a truly good DA .22LR revolver.

I recently bought a Taurus 94B4 (blued 4"), and have had it at the range twice. Nice finish, excellent lockup, stiff trigger. I'm hoping the reports of others of the trigger straightening out come true for mine, as well.

I'm glad I bought it, but it'll never replace the accuracy of my MKII.

Got Gun?

No, I have not had any problems. You can also look at the Ruger DA wheels guns in .22 RF .

Most guns today ,are what they are, in the sense that the're modern technique manufactured products. Your not going to buy guns with nice tight hand fit tolerances anymore.

The Taurus 94 I have does not meet the standard of quality that S&W put out a short 20 - 30 years ago, but then, neither does todays S&W's for the most part. Finding vintage firearms from the periods when hand fitting and machined parts were the normal is getting harder to do and more expensive.

I have a 4" circa 1997 Taurus 94, its a great revolver, I have fired thousands of rounds through it with no problems. Its accurate and reliable, the trigger on it is excellent in both single and double action. It does prefer copper plated high velocity rounds, Federal bulk packs have been excellent accuracy and reliability wise. Its the gun I use to introduce new shooters as well.

I highly recommend it.

My Taurus 94-4" is a well fitted and finished revolver. The trigger pull was very heavy at first, but lots of dry firing and a reduced power trigger spring have taken care of most of my issues. If I were starting over, I would choose the Taurus again.

Longer ago than I care to remember - (thus the crappy pic) I had a Pathfinder. Amazing gun for feel - despite being small but - and maybe cos mine was well used when I bought it - it was so sloppy it would not cycle on DA - only SA would work. Still a fun lil' revo tho.

I would think however that a good condition Pathfinder would be worth snagging - as long as tight and crisp internally. Like many Charters, I think the overall life span is not too long, even with a .22.

Well I'm looking for a new one. From some reviews I read awhile back charer is suppose to have improved thier guns.
