Greetings, and thankyou for reading, For some reason I cant get my pt145 to group properly, it shoots low and to the left by about 10 inches at only 7 yards... Im not sure what the problem is, as this doesnt happen with any other guns... if it were shooter error youd think it would at least present itself some in other weapons.. but nada... 2 inch groups with the mak... etc... but darned if I cant get this pt145 to group fairly well... If I aim for the upper right corner of my target.. itll group them in the center fairly well... I cant figure it out... the barrel alignment seems to be straight, the sights appear to be straight as far as I can tell... if they were that out of whack it would likely be noticeable... Really dont know what the problem is, Im wondering if this is just how the gun shoots, ive got over 600 rounds through it and with no failures id like this weapon to group nicely... I havent had the opportunity to shoot anyone elses pt145 so I cant make a comparison... its really odd though, Ive had better accuracy out of pocket .25's....

If anyone has heard of this, experienced this, and/or knows a fix for it, please share... thankyou.

Have you had anyone else try it? If so, and it still shoots that way, you need to send it to Taurus for a fix. Suggest you send with it some targets shot by you and others so they can see exactly how it is.

I had one for awhile and really liked it, but the long trigger pull was a bit much for me and I never could get any decent groups. Nothing like you are experiencing tho.

Yes, my fiance cant get it to group tight either, Im gonna try a few more things then Ill be sending it in I think... Im really not impressed with its accuracy at this point.

And heres something really strange, Last time out had a target set up, and found a beer can laying around and set it up on the berm next to the target we were shooting at (we shoot out in the boonies where we can be left alone) couldnt get a nice group in the 140 rounds I brought with on the target... I took 2 shots at the beer can and put 2 perfect holes right next to eachother... the holes were touching.... but the groups wouldnt stay together on the target... Im really scratching my head on that one... Maybe it means I need to drink more beer?? Havent had a cold one in a while... maybe thatll help :D

DarkKnight01,

I have a new version PT-145 Millennium Pro, with the light rail, and it is incredibly accurate. A few questions?

Have you tried different brands of ammo, different bullet configurations and bullet weights???

Have you taken it to a competent gunsmith to have the barrel/slide lockup checked??? Are there any unsusal wear patterns on the barrel???

Have you ever shot a handgun with this kind of double action trigger before???

Have someone watch your form.....if you are limpwristing or pulling they may be able to see it.

Is your gun a Millennium Pro or just a Pro, The older guns had frame cracking problems and this could definately lead to the inablilty to hit near the Point of aim.

One sure way to find out if it is the shooter or gun is to fire from a solid sandbag rest at that 7 yard distance and look at what happens. If all is well contact Taurus and let them know.

Good Luck!!!

Mine is the new model, Mil Pro with the accessory rail, Ive shot 230gr WWB Federal American Eagle 230gr, and Remington Golden Sabres in 230gr as well.

Havent gone the gunsmith route just yet, That may be one of the next steps after I try a few more things. And I have not noticed any odd wear patterns on the barrel or any part of the gun for that matter.

Havent fired a weapon with this same type of trigger before no, But its smooth, a bit long but smooth...

And I dont think im limpwristing... I keep a good tight hold... good tension through the wrists to the elbows and through to the shoulders... Ive been shooting the better part of my life... thats why this one has me scratching my head... I dont consider myself a professional by any stretch of the imagination, But im not a bad shot heh... not this bad anyway.

And yea, next time out im gonna bring a few towels roll em up and put it on one of the large rocks around where we shoot and shoot from a rested posistion... and see what happens..

Thanks for the tips bigmike.
