I'm a metal gun guy, so the Tavor was a stretch for me. On top of that, I live in Northern Canada, and temperatures with a "plastic" gun were a major concern for me, as I will use this on my wolf hunts. We had a cool forecast, by no means the coldest it gets, and I had some spare time so I decided to put the new plastic, made in Israel / a warm climate (yep Israeli, in Canada we only get the IWI Israel made ones at present) rifle outside to coldsoak for the night. In the morning, I posted my intentions to shoot it on a Canadian forum, and decided to make it more challenging for the gun. Sprayed it with water to ice it up all over, then threw it in a snowbank a few times, and ultimately fired it. It worked perfectly, even with a surprising amount of snow in the action. Thought you guys might be interested as your SAR-21 Tavors roll out and not a lot of cold weather info on them yet.

Just the youtube bit of the test, just under 3 mins:

That's amazing. Sorry to just comment now, but I've actually been looking to pick up a TAR-21, and also living in a fairly cold portion of the country, this will definitely play into my assessment. Thanks, man!

i missed this thread back in november. curious how it worked out for you on your wolf hunts and now that you've had a winter to use it

just a note, you can send the bolt carrier, internal parts to robar.com for an np3 treatment,or send the whole gun for an np3 treatment.increased lubricity, less issues of wear and freezing issues in cold weather.

Good stuff guys, appreciate the kind words. So far, have only had the rifle out twice, one miss (my fault, rushed) and one where I was literally on top of a wolf when I stumbled on a moose kill, no rifle, returned with the Tavor and no dice he was long gone. Will continue. :)

Was everyone else able to read the review at morrisonarms.com?
I clicked the link and it took me to their website but it said "the page you requested could not be found"

Thanks there, and it's available off the main page of the site on the right hand menu of recent articles.

Of course, sending parts or the whole firearm to Robar is orders of magnitude easier for US residents. OP is in Canada. Most of the paperwork complexity is on USG side of the border :-(

Too bad - NP3 reports have impressed me over the years.
