In No. Redondo Bch. Its right behind my place of employment. Must be 3 copters (not news crews, though their there too) and about 200 cops, all with guns drawn, pistols & mp5's, m4's,etc...
The cops are from LASD,Hermosa Bch,Manhattan Bch,El Segundo,Redondo,Lennox SD,Lawndale SD,Hawthorne PD,Rancho Palos Verdes PD,Metro SD,Torrance PD, and Gardena.
Their shooting lots of blanks at simulated terrorists at the metro station end of the line on Marine ave, and practicing going up stairs stacked behind a riot shield holder.
Also setting off smoke and simulated bombs(1/2 sticks-BOOM!)That one suprised me as I was probably 100' from it.
Marine is blocked off from 405 to Aviation blvd,and traffic is snarled in surrounding areas.
Also saw a hostage rescue, and an ambush on cops shooting up the stairs at the train station, guy jumped out of a van and concentrated fire at them from the rear w/a pistol,dropped a mag and reloaded, emptied that one before he was taken down. Even though it was a "simulation", the tackle looked like it hurt, but I guess it was for "realism".
