"Terrorism Planning -- It Ain't Just Duct Tape"

Unfortunately, our government abandoned the concept of "civil defense" over a generation ago.

WTSHTF, we're on our own, at least for the first several days. It will take that long to get ANY government response. As the article points out, now is the time to make a plan and a list of contacts.

Know who you can count on and where you can go, then be prepared to return the favor if your friends have to come to you.

A small reminder though. If things go bad, a lot of people who thought you were a "gun nut" will suddenly become very friendly when the police can't (won't) come to protect them. As C. Heston said, during the L.A. riots a lot of his anti-gun friends came to the door wanting to borrow a shotgun.

My kit consists of a trash bag and some duct tape. Anything happens, pull the bag over your head and tape it shut around your neck. Has the same effect as Ridge's suggestions, but takes less time to execute... so to speak.
