texas carry in your car without a CHL?

Just curious, I have heard mixed things regarding the legality of carrying in your car in Texas without a CHL. Could someone clue me in?

[btw I don't carry in my car now and do plan do get a CHL]

Was finally made clearly legal in 2007. Prior to that, the issue was clouded in definitions of 'traveling' (during which car carry was legal) and how different jurisdictions defined 'traveling'.

It is a brief read that goes over the 2007 law authorizing you to keep a concealed handgun in a motor vehicle without a CHL, as well as the older travelling law.

Yes it is legal. The handgun must not be in plainsight.
