I posted this over at the shotgun side, but thought I might get some different traffic over here. This weekend I was given a single shot 12 guage and the only markings on it are Texas Ranger on the receiver and the words "barrel and lug forged one piece" on the barrel. I suspect it may be a Stevens that was sold through a distributor such as Sears, but I haven't been able to find any information on it or the age. It has a casehardened frame with much of the case colors remaining and the bore is close to mint. I know these single shots aren't worth much, but I can't complain about the price. I used to hunt with a similar gun and I would like to maybe take it out this fall for old times sake, but I am curious about it's history so if anyone has some information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was given a simlar gun by my father who hunted with it back in 1928. Have you found out any information on the Texas Ranger?
