To all of the 2A community; thank you for your help from us in NYS! Your e-mails and phone calls to manufacturer's of firearms and accessories has made a difference. There is a growing list of them that will not sell any magazines greater than 7 round capacity or "assault weapons" as defined in the Steal All Firearms Egregiously (SAFE) act in New York State to anyone for any reason. LE is NOT exempted!

Your e-mails and phone calls to our legislators has been having an effect.

The support you have given us is giving us the encouragement to go on. As of today; there are 22 Counties that have gone on record, including the largest Upstate County, Erie as calling for REPEAL of the tyranical Steal All Firearms Egregiously act. The NYS Sheriff's Association, NYS County Clerk's Association, and New York Association of Counties are also on record as having grave concerns. Now, local Towns and Villages are calling for REPEAL as well. On Feb. 28; there may be 10's of thousands of New York firearms owners converging on Albany to carry our message. Althogh the Legislature may not REPEAL this tyrannical act, the message is: DO YOU HEAR US NOW?!

To law-abiding firearms owners in other beleagured states: DO NOT GIVE UP! As I state to all, politicritters are like vermin, they cannot stand heat and light!

Keep up the good fight brother, we're with you! As a transplanted New Yorker (Long Island, land of the gum-snapping mall rats in my time), my heart breaks for you guys!

Neither politics nor politicians are the enemy here. The enemies are those who are either stupid, arrogant, and/or those with malicious intent. As far as I'm concerned, that includes the average American citizen as much as it includes elected officials.

To say there are no enemies here is a lack of awareness of the history of the passage of the Steal All Firearms Egregiously act. The lack of transparency exhibited in the political process of creating the legislation and then allowing NY Senators only 1 hour to read it before voting on it and Assembly members 30 minutes does not protect or respect the Legislative process of a Constitutional Republic. Nor does being disingenious about the FACT that confiscation (of "assault weapons" and "high capacity magazines") WAS on the table during the discussion, although denied by Emperor Cuomo yesterday in Buffalo during a presser.

Please realize, even if you live in a solidly "gun friendly" state, that this type of legislation is being proposed in EVERY state or will be. The only way to fight it is to maintain a vigilance like a hawk looking for a mouse; and pounce like the hawk on any attempt to constrain your rights. The light is scrutiny, the heat is our voices and pens.

There is another option, and as much as I would like to start/finish it, there are others. Even our founders (American Patriots) tolerated many indignities before Col. John Parker gathered the militia at Concord Bridge. Fighting with our brains, pens and pixels is far easier than with our modern American muskets and ball.

I agree with you, sir.

My point wasn't that politicians should be blindly trusted; instead, that we need to give equal attention to those who don't value their 2A right, regardless of their political position or authority.

The term Gun Control has 2 components; Gun & Control

From an early age (about 15), when I first became interested in firearms; I also was interested in the political process called the United States of America. Quickly, I realized that there were 2 types of politicritters; those who trusted the citizens with arms and those who did not.

The former generally represented my interests, namely the freedom to succeed or fail as determined by my ambition, knowledge and skill. The latter generally did not, they were interested only in me returning them to office as it was the easiest job they ever had. Spew drivel, hand out the rewards of my efforts and get re-elected, collect paycheck funded by our taxes.

Those espousing gun control and their followers are beyond a paradigm shift to a responsible guardian of the Constitution and freedom. The people we need to convert to our side are those who are undecided. Once they realize that the potential of America is unlimited, and we can govern ourselves, then we have a true convert.

Gun control is and never was about guns. To quote the character Shane: "A gun is just a tool. It may be used for either good or bad, depending on the person using it. But it is just a tool." It is all about control; the more a politicritter spews off about gun control, the more control they want over your everyday life. The size of soda pop you can buy, whether or not you can wrap your hot dog in bacon (very good, by the way), what car you can drive, the size of your building lot, etc. becomes an issue of what that person thinks is good for you; not for you to exercise your intellegence, morals and ethics.
