Took my new, un-fired, 870 Express to the range today. I just happened to arrange to be at the PGC range at the same time that Dave McC and the "geezers" shoot. Now this was no mistake as I had talked with Dave on THR.

I went with a mind set to "listen and learn". Well I was not disappointed; Dave and the Geezers were eager to help out a new guy and made me feel right at home. Dave first asked to see my new 870 and I was glad to have educated eye look the gun over before the first "pull". He put a little lube on the forearm rails that made a tremendous difference in the action. Dave then ran me through some basics and put me one the line.

The results... I hit more then I missed. Dave gave me some good pointers as to what I was doing wrong, some that I immediately incorporated into my shooting, and some others that I will need to practice to make "automatic". In other words BA/UU/R. I also need to absorb more of the information contained in the stickies at the top of the page.

Thanks to Dave and the guys for taking time to help me out. The education is just beginning and I hope to "happen by" again in the near future.

Man! I'm sorry I had to miss the Geezing today (Hunny-Bunny and I volunteered to pitch in at the kids' school today for the Halloween festies...). There's always next Friday.

Welcome aboard, Dan!!! Hopefully, we'll meet next Friday!

Glad to help, Dan. There's not enough white in your beard yet to justify full blown Geezer Status, but we confer Geezer In Training Status upon thee.

That means you buy the coffee next time,heh,heh....

Ed, being next Friday is the first Friday of the month, it's doubles day. Bring lots of ammo.....
