My first 1911 was a Colt issiued to me in 1952, courtesy of our Uncle. I've had several 1911's since then, and presently have a Colt series 70 purchased new back then, and a Kimber Classic Gold Match. When the Glocks came out I thought that they were the most undesirable handgun that I had ever seen. Then when the high caps were about to be banned, I purchased a G 17 . And later, after several more, I still have the G17 and a G23.
I recognize that the Glocks have a durable finish, very simple on the inside, will feed and fire everytime, has round corners that helps comfortable carry and is relative inexpensive. However, for me, the 1911 is more accurate and is reliable. So whats the big deal about a Glock with a poor trigger? I have just came back from our range and after running a hundred rounds through the G23 and the Colt Mark IV series 70, frankly I wonder why I keep the G23. Once accustomed to a good 1911, it is hard to change. Any one else been through this?
