The 32 acp revolver

I think the Smith and Wesson Model 31 (square butt) and 30 (round butt) are just about the best 32 ACP revolvers you are likely to get.

They shoot 32 acp just fine, but also 32 S&W and 32 S&W Long.

Six shots.

I don't expect to shoot a lot of 32 acp, though, in my 31-1.

When I carry it I use Buffalo Bore 32 S&W Long ammo and I believe it is better than any 32 acp round.

No point in going to 32 acp.

The only reason I would shoot a lot of 32 acp is if I couldn't get my hands on 32 long and didn't want to reload.

I'm a .32ACP/7.65mm slut, I can't resist them. I have over two dozen, all semis (from a FN1900 up through a NAA Guardian) except for my Nagant with its .32 cylinder.

I'm not much for wheelguns, but this .32 Long and H&R magnum discussion has piqued my interest. I'm heading out to a local gun show this weekend; I'm looking for an older Hi-Power, and am always seeking .32 ACP pistols, but now I guess I'll add .32 wheelguns to the search list.

I was thinking a 32 acp revolver could be made about the size of a Rossi "Princess", but with a 1 7/8" barrel. Thats what i would want. Im sure the tooling would be cost prohibitive, but if the cylinder can be made proportional to the round, couldnt the frame be too

I would very much like to know if a revolver cylinder of that diameter is strong enough to cope with 32 ACP.

I have several .32 cal wheel guns. The one that fits the bill nicely is my Taurus Model 731 Total Titanium chambered in .32 H&R mag. It has had no issue handling the .32 acp. Shoots and extracts without issue and is small and light. (6 shot )

I like my I frame S&W 1903's chambered in .32 Long but they would need modernizing to shoot anything above the pressures of the .32 S&W Long.

So lets build the I frame in .32 H&R mag/.32 acp , and while we are there, a .32 top break in those chamberings also.

My SP101 in .327 eats .32 acp no problem. At 15 yards, it's on point and accurate. The cartridges eject just fine. I've got about half a box of .32 acp left. I probably won't shoot it out of the SP just because I prefer .32 S&W wadcutters for general woods walking and .327 magnum for SD woods carry.

However, my SP is my "scrounging" gun. I bought it because even during the worst ammo droughts with the most obnoxiously inflated ammo prices, the .32 family is readily available at most of the sporting/farm stores. I won't go burning through 200 rounds at the range as it's ridiculously expensive to plink with. However, I just really love the little .32 caliber. I have a soft spot for it above the ubiquitous 9mm and even the hard hittng .45 acp. It's a classic, classy little pill that can be fun to goof around with (I think cap guns recoil worse than S&W short in a full steel SP), a viable meat-getter that shouldn't obliterate the animal, and a criminally underrated rip-snorter when loaded up to .327.

I would actually probably be on board for a .32 acp revolver. Something robust yet maybe with a bit of fancy flash. Something James Bond would carry if he found himself transported to the old west via time machine:D

Not every gun has to put a man in the dirt. Sometimes, it's just fun to have a gun for having a gun's sake.
