I started working up loads and got decent results last weekend working my way up to 48 gr. Reloader 19 pushing the Barnes 140 gr. TSX. Went out this morning with loads going up to 50 grains of Reloader 19. I only shot 3 shot groups of each test load. The rifle is a VZ-24 action, 24" Douglas XX barrel, Timney side safety trigger, and a B&C stock. My previous load was the 154 gr. Hornady with 47 gr. Reloader 19, good for about 2700 FPS but .750"- .900" groups pretty consistantly.
The TSX is an obviously more accurate bullet in my rifle, the 48 gr. load has shot .655-.720" the last two weekends. The 49 gr. load was worse today so I did not have much hope for anything faster. But the 50 gr. load surprised me with a .568" center to center group, all side by side wth essentially no vertical spread. No signs of pressure so I'll load up 20 of these for next weekend for another trial run.
