The Andy Griffith Show

All i could recall was that they were indeed all Winchesters.

On the subject of TV guuns tho.....

Did you ever notice that sometimes Sgt. Schultz, on Hogan's Heros, would be shoulderin a .30-40 Krag instead of a 98 ?
Schultz would have had a 6.5mm Danish or Norwegian Krag, not a .30-40. Second-tier troops like camp guards got whatever was available, while the Mauser 98k rifles went to the front lines.

You could probably start a whole new section on old TV series guns.
With that said my wife and I love that show. I love the yearly tv marathons and have a couple of DVDS.

Great post about my favorite TV show of all time. I have every episode ever recorded and have actually been to Mt Airy(sp?) and gotten a haircut at Floyd's. IMO opinion the show took a dive after Barney left and never recovered.
I saw The Ghost and Mr. Chicken a couple of weeks ago as well as The Shakiest Gun in the West. No Time for Sargeants is one of the silliest movies ever and I love it. Good, clean humor.

That site is worth its weight in Gold! I'm addicted to it and have actually dedicated an offline archive for future reference relative to my favorite flicks (wish they had a phone app). What amazes me is that it is so thorough in terms of both past and present films. My recent example would be the classic British made film "The Wild Geese" which I was quite surprised (kind of a Mercenary cult flick with lots of chap greats like Burton, Moore, Harris etc.) IMFDB had a complete review of! Another similar American made Merc film (adapted from a Frederick Forsyth novel) along these very same lines would be "Dogs of War" for those interested in these types of flicks.

Heck, while I'm at it I think I will do a forum search on this subject to see if there are any threads related to best "gun movies" so to speak (suffice it to say I am just looking for an escape for the next 72 hours or so as we recover from last night's calamity).

I can't imagine anyone on THR that is not aware but if not go there and it will be tantamount to an early Christmas Present (how about a little Santa to cheer us up!):

It was a comedy GC.

■Goof (factual errors): In various episodes Sgt. Shultz is carrying a 30/40 Krag issued to American troops in the late 1800's. He should have had a k98 Mauser from the period or a GEW leftover from WWI at the very least. The Krag is distinct in the cartridge magazine being on the bolt side of the weapon.

GEW .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gewehr_98

This is from Wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hogan's_Heroes
Schultz carries a Krag-Jørgensen rifle, which he never keeps loaded and tends to misplace or even hand to the POWs when he needs to use both hands ("Give me back my gun, or I'll SHOOT!").
