Let me offer this little bit of insight into the mix.

All the Democrats are calling for an imediate withdrawl from the Middle east, and to that I would offer this condition: Fine we will withdraw under these domestic conditions, 1. All illeagle Alians are imediately deported without reservation., 2. the returning troops will be reasigned to the total border security., 3. The Troops will also be asigned to 100% inspection of all incomming Cargo shipments., 4. There will be no emigrants allowed that have not already been in the system waiting acceptance and then it would be cut off for a period of ten years., 5. We demand repayment of all debts owed this country regardless of the reason for the debt PAID IN FULL, and the money recieved to us would be then used to pay off, or down the National Debt we owe with the understanding that any unpaid ballance would be first priority., 6. Kick the UN off US soil permantly., 7. Inform the world we will no longer be in the buisness of protecting them from anybody.

If that is agreeable put it in writing and tell the boys/girls to come home, we have a new job for them.

Now think on that one!
 
Bringing the troops home would cause Iraq to break into 3 countries. Sunnistan, West Iran, and Kurdistan.

Turkey would instantly invade Kurdistan which would anger the Russians tremendously. Russia would arm the Kurds and it would be a blood bath.

Iran would pretty much annex the shiite portion of Iraq. They'd arm them and organize them the way they did Hezbollah.

Sunni Iraq would be a massive war-zone (like it is now) for the next 50 years. Shiites and Sunnis will kill each other even more now that no American forces are there to focus on. Watch the genocides begin.

Iran would OWN the Persian gulf with the exception of Kuwait which would be our only footstep to the Middle East. The future of oil will be in danger.

Everything would be highly destabilized. The Islamofascist world would see this as the greatest victory in the history of the Persian/Arab/East vs. Europe/West warfare.

You think that putting troops on the border is a good idea? It will erode the limits of posse comitatus. While it is a good idea, and it SHOULD be ok to use troops to defend a border in theory- our government would use that as an excuse to militarize our nation's police-state. I'm begining to believe that the border is a lose-lose situation and that America will eventually be balkanized and shatter into warring sub-states in the long term future.


With the defeat of Israel by Hezbollah, and the impossibility of a strike on Iran, the incredible sophistication and success of the Iraqi insurgency, the determination and resiliancy of the Taliban....we are watching the END of modern State-led militaries. War will transform back into the days when anyone (any interest) could fight one.


That being said, and to stay on topic with firearm related discussion....I suggest that everyone seriously stockpile on military-pattern rifles and ammo. Because when we're going to be older and grayer...thinks might be rough.
