The LithgowLA101 and CZ455 with Lothar Walther barrel will be going head to head with Lapua Xact. After watching this video you will have seen both rifles shoot and perform on the best ammunition offered from Eley and Lapua. Both of which are considered to be the premium 22LR ammunition manufacturers of today.

Ammunition Tested: Eley Tenex, Eley Match, Lapua CenterX, Fiocchi320, Lapua Xact

Ammunition in the pipeline to be tested: Lapua Midas+, RWS50, SK Rifle Match, CCI Standard Velocity, Aquila SuperXtra Standard Velocity

Many contacted me about testing different brands of ammunition and wanting to donate to the cause for seeing the test. Remington Golden Bullet Subsonic, SK Pistol Match, SK Pistol Match Special Is ammunition soon to come from supporters.

Thanks for the encouragement, I really wanted to get up and dance after shooting those groups but I had to remember the camera was on lol.

Imagine how much better the guns and ammo would shoot if you shot early morning or late evening without the wind gusts!
It’s obvious you have range issues from the targets buffeting and trees blowing in the background.

Having shot NRA PPC where we shoot low velocity .38spl wadcutters, the effect on groups by even modest winds is pronounced.

The best group I ever fired with my Ruger 77/22Hornet, I fired just before sunset. 5-shots went into a 5-shot cluster under 1/2”. I was elated. I went home, loaded the exact same five cases with exact same load. Bullets from same box. Three days later, at exactly the same bench, but at 2pm in afternoon, the rifle/ammo shot a 2” group! Took me a while to get my head wrapped around the effects of mirage, and wind.

I know that lighting has a big affect on when and where you shoot, but I’ve got to think that your results are affected, too.

You know how ego is Goose I don't want to be making any excuses. Unfortunately the range happens to be in a valley. But you are right when I reviewed the video and saw the target moving back and forward I was AMAZED. I knew it was obviously blowing front to back from where I was sitting just didn't feel like that much. By the way let me head off this conversation now -- NO I am not going to let you all push me further down this rabbit hole by getting a wind meter LOL LOL LOL.

No, no ego. I’m trying to offer constructive input.
I’m familiar with the low velocity and low b.c. and s.d. of 22lr projectiles. I’ve had aquaintances that shot NRA smallbore and Rimfire BR competition and witnessed discussions regarding the challenges of rimfire accuracy.
I’ve also watched the actions of fired bullets as a spotter through spotting scopes. They often take zig-zag trajectories thwarting the efforts of top shooters with cutting edge equipment. Thermals and gusts can be infuriating!
Just offering what I hope are helpful suggestions.

Sooooo bout that wind meter.......:evil::p

I put out pieces of survey tape sometimes, and pretend I know what I'm doing. I have noticed that if I'm paying attention to them, I can usually avoid the REALLY big wind induced fliers.....as I've said before, I suck at reading, and adjusting for wind.

Nooooo Goose you totally misunderstood. I implying my ego got in the way I was being bull headed about it. I was saying man the wind is really blowing but the devil on the other shoulder was saying you can beat that wind go ahead pull the trigger LOL.
