It seems that silly string (the stuff you spray from a pressurised can) can be useful in detecting boobytraps, of all things. See here for pictures and details.

Who woulda thunk it? :D

I'd say he's danged lucky that the weight of the Silly String didn't set off the traps. :uhoh:

Well, I guess if it works... *shrug* :)

To use it to find a trip wire you first need to know there is one. I suppose locating the other side from all their giggling and laughing might be of some use though.

I expect a long winded yarn associated with this, but it seems Peter's at the end of his rope becoming entwined with other issues.:neener:

Is this for real?
Can anyone with any real live experience confirm this? I am always willing to help out, but scams sort of bother me....

used silly string in training, we carried it on tours in Ireland, never got in the situation were we needed it. plan was if we had a man down spray silly string so the medics could get to him. one of those good plans your glad you never needed to test.

The story got edited out - they are probably afraid of terrorists making a run on the Toys R Us.

I was expecting a little more maturity on such an issue but I am "a frayed knot":D
