I've only shot a few different calibers of handguns and without renting dozens more I would like to get an idea of what the relative recoil of various calibers are. Could anyone who cares to please give me the recoil of any calibers they have shot just on a scale of 1-10 for quick reference? I'm guessing that .22LR would be at about a 1 and .700 Nitro Express would be at about a 10, though as previously mentioned i could be wrong Also since obviously the same cartridge has a different "feel" in various firearms (ie a .357 mag in a 6 inch vs a .357 mag in a 2 inch scandium frame) if you could list what you've shot it in as well that would be greatly appreciated. Heres mine so far:
10
9
8
7 .41 magnum single action (can't recall the gun unfortunately)
6 .357 magnum
5.40 caliber Glock 23, .40 caliber Sig Sauer P229
4 XD 45 Compact
3.38 special (out of some kind of smith and wesson .357 my grandpa had as a reserve police officer) 9mm Glock 19
2
1 Ruger Mark II .22 lr
Any additional input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
