Saw this video clip from The Best Defense tv series while surfing the DownRange.tv site. It's a stark reminder of how quickly someone with a blade or other hand-wielded implement can close that gap to you in a critical incident. Food for thought...

For folks who are unfamiliar with the origin of the Tueller Drill and who believe that it refers to the distance the justifies when you can use deadly force against a person armed with an edged/impact weapon, that isn't the intent.

Tueller developed the drill to demonstrate the need to develop other responses than firearms within that radius

Edit: I guess I should have watch the clip first
 
Not too keen on the music, gunshot FX or the jerky camera angles. But if you can filter that out there's some useful information.
