Another masterpiece from Mr. Frazier that will last for centuries.

Have anybody here read "Thirteen Moons" yet?

In my personal opinion, I believe that this book is a must read for every black powder shooter, buckskinner, modern day bronco buster, or, a conservative.

Any opinions?

If you think that's good, you should read "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy. The main characters are armed with Walkers, but more importantly, the novel bowled me over more than any other book besides possibly "the Brothers Karamazov"--it's that good. Don't be distracted about descriptions of it as a deconstruction of the Western genre, or a critique of Manifest Destiny. This book is far and away too good to concern itself with such trite yuppie fixations.

Seriously. Go read it. Now.

Oh, hey GOC. I was just about to write you nice description about the OCR, but I see IM283 gave you the link.

It is a really good organization, and if you support Southern heritage and would like to do more, then it is the right organization for you. We work to untangle the politically correct mess made by the so called "victors" during the War For Southern Independance. It seems like not only the Japanese are trying to re-write and distort history these days.
Over the years, we have exposed many facts, such as the African American Confederate soldier. There are many that served on our side, and contrary to the Yankee notion that they were "forced" to join, they actually joined on their own free will.

Also, the film Gods And Generals was made with our support. In that film, you can actually see blacks alongside whites living comfortably in Southern towns. Well the leftists today wouldn't really want you to see this.

Also many Chinese immigrants fought on the Confederate side. The Southern government and people treated them with much more acceptance than the capitalists in the north and California. Thats why a majority of them joined the call. It is our way of saying "thanks". The same reason why so many Chinese peasants joined the CCP in China during the 30s and 40s. CCP and Confederacy are true "People's Governments", because they actually work for the people and not exploit for capital gain.

The OCR is the best organization I have ever joined, right next to the NRA. If your daughter learns something "not quite right" at school regarding the War, or gun ownership, just take your question to an OCR representative. They will help you with the truth.

Once I finish my last class today, I am going to the library to obtain a copy. Hey, Cormac McCarthy, the same man who brought us "No Country For Old Men". He is a legend too. Mr. McCarthy belongs on the same level as Larry McMurtry and Charles Frazier. They are naturally-born story tellers. I don't think anyone else could bring us the beauty and romance of what America really represents.

I am an author myself, I have looked up to these three figures for as long as I have been involved in literature.

Oh yeah, and Walkers kicked some serious a** in it's history. Just like LeMat, Remington, and Enfield.

just got through listening to it on cd

pretty good story, however I don't really care for the authors writing style
