Anybody else love their CZ-52?

Just from a Cold War arms collection standpoint they are too cool. Single stack, decocker, roller locking, high power bottle neck cartridge, gawd awful loud, fire spittin' little dragons they are!

I do know that lots of them were refurbished in the '70's and given a "black" color while the original untouched ones are that nifty "not quite gold" color.

I have one of the latter and am considering getting one of the former but the gunshop wants $190 for it and I only paid $115 for the "gold" one and it is in near new condition. Seriously, this 52 was well loved by someone.

Anyone want to chime in on the CZ-52? If you have a refurbished one tell what you think of it versus an original if you have such knowledge.

thanks

Mine is a grey 53, all original (barrel is numbered to the gun), with honest wear of most of the finish. The bore is .308, the sights are right on, and the trigger is good and smooth with some takeup and overtravel. I like how thin the gun is, and the gun points well for me (seems I'm the exception). The decocker works and the original fireing pin is still going. I've gone through over 1,500 rounds (flawless), mixed surplus, S&B, Winchester, FNM, and reloads using Unique and the XTP. I have about 250 110grn FMJ and 500 90grn lead along with about 500 pieces of brass, so I'm not dependent on surplus.

My wife and I both shoot it well. Normally one of us stands to the right of the shooter about 10-15ft and tries to catch the brass out of the air. It's actually pretty fun.

I got a good example of the gun by luck of the draw back when they were $99.

Oh yeah, I got a pack of the MagSafe ammo to play with. I shot a pumpkin at about 10yards, made a huge hole (6-8in) in the front, half a dozen small holes where the pellets exited. Not for SD, but pretty cool to have pumpkin fly back in your face like that. The gun cycled and fed it fine.
