I’m looking at Tikka T3 tactical 20” heavy barrel riffle one thing I don’t understand is how free-floating is done on the barrel, it looks like its not free floated from the receiver for about 2 inches. Is this how Tikka supposed to free float their barrels or I have a problem?
Any one has experience with Tikka?
Thanks

The Tikka T3 Varmint I looked at, was touching along one side. It may have just needed the action screws loosened, and moved to center, but I was kinda turned off by the flimsy stock, and went another route. There supposed to be great shooters, and I dont remember there being much clearance for the barrel. I do love them Tikka triggers!:)

A lot a people believe in bedding the first inch or so past the chamber, so it may be a non issue to touch in that area.

The Tactical stock supports the barrel to just past the end of the chamber, and that's the way it's supposed to be...

My T3 Varmint (same stock without the optional adjustable comb) in 223 is an absolute tack driver. It's the most accurate rifle that I own.
