Which would you buy and why?

The accuracy potential goes to the Tikka but I love the *feel* of the Browning X-Bolt. Is the build quality of the Tikka comparable to a Browning X-Bolt?

I was all set on a Tikka T3 Hunter in 6.5 Swede but I'm still bothered by how cheap it is. I was originally going to buy an X-Bolt in .243.

Why is the Tikka so cheap? Other than the single action length and plastic trigger guard/magazine (which the X-Bolt Hunter also has), I can't understand how a European gun (made basically by Sako) can be SO CHEAP. What am I missing?

Are corners cut in the Tikka like, for example, the inletting or something? It doesn't have very pretty wood but at least it's walnut (although it sure looks like dark stained birch or something).

I own a Tikka and can't find a flaw in it, yeah it has a plastic trigger guard and detachable mag that is plastic but other than that I can't find a problem with the way it shoots. Currently I have a .243 and while I am getting good groups with it I am still playing with it looking for something a little tighter shooting.

One downside to it that I have read is the customer service in dealing with Beretta and/or Tikka is pretty unbearable and parts are expensive and aftermarket parts are very hard to find.

The plus side though is scope bases for it (if you don' want the factory bases and rings) are not hard to find.

Both are good guns---I have the X-bolt.

I have the blued/wood model---don't much care for blued/wood---but I can't find a good reason to trade it off---its a good gun.
