Hello and good afternoon all .

Bought new TIKKA T3x a few months ago and last time out at the range the bullets were not feeding correctly.

Looking online there seems to be a possible issue with the plastic mags that comes with the gun .

Looking for a replacement magazine any help from the Tikka owners would be nice , maybe mountain tatical ?

Also have to contact TIKKA or check with the dealer ? to see if there is any warranty on the mag as it only has a couple hundred rounds through it .

The bullets seem to be sitting with the nose higher and the rear is sitting down screwing up the feeding .

Happens with factory ammo .

Never had an issue with Tikka magazines. I've never heard of an issue with Tikka magazines.

What cartridge are you using? They make mags for long and short action cartridges as well as one for 223. A long action mag would probably work with a short action cartridge but might be less reliable.

They show a different part number for 6.5 CM but I use those interchangeably with both my 6.5CM and 308 rifles.

it only has a couple hundred rounds through it .

200 rounds, might be time for a new mag spring.

Tikkas work well with AICS magazines in aftermarket stocks and "bottom metals."

The only thing I don't like is how some "bottom metals" tend to be "tight" with said magazines.

The gun is a 223 and worked fine for the first few months .

At the range last week started hearing click, click , click when firing .

Pull the mag rounds still in there and nothing in the chanber when trying to extract a round .

Looking at the rounds the tip of the bullet was facing up and I tried to reload the mag and made sure it was in place .

Used a bunch of differerent kinds of rounds factory , reloads ( no long rounds ) and they all did the same thing .

The gun shoots great but hate to be hunting with it and have the feeding issue .

Not sure if I should contact the dealer I bought it at or contact Tikka directly to see if there is a warranty .

Also looking for a spare that will be reliable and not sure if buying the same one that came with the gun in there will lead to the same issue .

Saw some people online complain about the feeding issue , did not know it was a thing and did not see a remedy .

Have you disassembled the mag and inspected the spring? Or maybe the follower is broken somehow? The only thing I dislike about my Tikka is the plastic mag. Mine works fine in 30-06, but I bought an extra in case.

I have a T3x in 6.5x55. It came with a 3 round mag and I bought a 5 round Tikka mag. Both feed ok but compared with the rest of the rifle feel cheesy. So, I bought a Mountain Tactical 3 round billet aluminum magazine. Mine was a blem but I can't find anything wrong with it. It's an improvement over the factory mag IMO.

No pics of the mag the one It is the stock oem one , unless you were talking about tne mountain tatical one.

Have a Tikka and have never had issues. Are these reloads? Have you measured the cartridges for COL?

Mag issues are common on the Tikka Tact A1. Can be seen on some YouTube reviews. I had issues with both mags on my new one. Someone suggested manipulating the spring to make it more level. Has worked so far.

I also had extraction issues. Contacted Tikka/Beretta and they were great to deal with. Sent me a new bolt very quickly, which fixed the issue. All is great now. Love the rifle.

the issue witth not feeding has been with factory ammo and reloads which were not too long .

Was on hold with Tikka/Beretta for a while yesterday and did not get through , have to call them back at a lower call volume time .

Called Tikka/ Beretta and the girl was trying to send me a new magazine to see if that fixes the problem.

If the new mag does not fix the feeding problem the gun would have to be sent in she said.

Was at the range today and first round went in , after that ammo was not feeding so I ended up loading them one at a time into the ejection port by hand , that was clumbsy for me getting them to load while keeping my cheek weld .

Jeff from Mountain tatical called me back and said their 223 upgraded mag was in the works and should be ready in a month or so .

I asked him if he had heard of feeding problems with the original mag and he said not really .

You need to take it apart and see if there’s any thing in there that shouldn’t be.Wipe it out inside and take a Q tip with silicone or some kind of dry lube and wipe the sides of the magazine and the follower.I’ve fixed a couple slow magazines this way.The fix lasts a long time.

Maybe the spring is bad in mine that could be the case , I was just stating the rounds in the mag were not super long reloads .

Found some people reversed the spring and others have claimed worns lips on the mag.

Some people have suggested leaving the mags loaded is the cause, weakening the spring but in my case I never left and rounds in it after a range session , was always empty.

Here is a link with some ideas and a picture that looks just like my issue on page 3 post #45 .
