I walked into a local gun shop and a friend of mine who worked there was holding a mint 3 inch Colt Python for me. After all, 10 years ago this dealer had a 2.5" blue Python and I'd agreed to purchase it but since the banks were closed I had to return the next morning with full payment for this Python. Well a new kid clerk had mistakenly sold this Python out from under me...but this friend of mine felt sympathetic towards me so he had promised me that if he ever got in another 2.5" Python that it would be mine? Unfortunately for the last 10 years every time I had visited this shop and had asked this friend the big question his answer was "NO"! But this morning I decided to go back to see my friend in this shop since I had not been back there for one year...but whenever I popped the big question to him he surprised me by pulling out a brown cardboard box containing a mint 3-inch Python he'd been saving just for me for quite awhile due to wanting to deliver on his 10 year old promise! He sold it to me for about one-half of the going market price! How's that for a true friend? The only reason this 3" Python had come in was due to a Widow who needed the money and she said that her husband had purchased this Python 15 years ago. I was stunned that my dream had come true today! Since I live in CA I can't pick this Python up for 10 days!

It's a nice day when someone remembers exactly what you want...and when it comes in they have it waiting for you.

I, too fall victim to the 10-day wait out here. It has done nothing to curb violent crimes of passion, suicide, or domestic violence. But hey, in their world if the liberal fascists in Sacto make owning any gun a hassle then maybe the guns will all just float away on rainbow wings blowing unicorn kisses....

Nice to see your persistence (and your gun shop friend's memory), paid off! Couldn't get your photo to open so if you get a chance could you repost it? Thanks!

Well, unfortunately I used to have photo bucket until they started charging a ridiculous annual fee of $399 so I don't yet have a new place yet to store my photos!

It's not terribly hard to add pictures to a thread or add them to your profile page for storage.

Congrats on the acquisition! Those short barreled Pythons are real lookers!

What's the procedure on this forum to add pictures to a thread or add them to my profile page for storage? Or am I still going to need a picture host like photo bucket?

Click on the camera icon above the response box and it will give you an option to pic one of your own media items, or there is a button below the box to upload a new image.

Or you can go to your account page and in the box below your avatar there is a little listing that says "Media" with a number to the right. Click on the number and at the top of the page, on the right there is a Add Media button. From there you can create albums and add pictures.

It's not the most intuitive thing, and where I often get frustrated is confusing my profile page, with my account page.

If you have the photo filed on your device, you just click on the "upload a file" button next to the "post reply" button. A window will pop up where you can choose your photo. click on it, click on "open", and it will post below your text. You'll have the option for it to be a thumbnail or full image. Like so..... Thank you for the Info on how to post pictures on this forum....thus I'll do this once I've been able to pick up this Python at the end of the CA 10 day waiting period.

Sold it to you "for about one half the going market price." "due to a widow who needed the money." Sounds like the poor old lady got screwed so your friend could do you a favor!!!! But hey who knows, she was probably really old and was gonna die soon anyway so she really didn't need that much dough anyhow!!!

lewwallace, He did say it was his lucky day, not the widow's lucky day.

Well, we don't know what we don't know, but he likely paid what he usually paid, and perhaps, didn't make as much on the sale as he COULD have, so that he could honor his word. But again, who knows...

Would like to see that photo when you get a chance. Congratulations!
