WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- The United States has slapped financial sanctions on Russia's state arms exporter for its dealings with Iran, a move was described by Russia as something "without international legal foundation," the Washington Post reported Saturday.

Under the U.S. law, any assets of the entities or individuals being sanctioned will be frozen, and no Americans are allowed to do business with them.

The U.S. sanctions were designed to thwart the sales of sensitive technology that could help Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Syria develop weapons of mass destruction or missile systems, the Washington Post said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday denounced the U.S. sanctions on Russia's Rosodboronexport, and its subsidiaries, as illegal and unjust.

"These new sanctions were introduced without any international legal foundation whatsoever," Lavrov was quoted as reporting in Moscow.

Russia will not change its policies on Iran because of the sanctions, the Russian foreign minister stressed.

Dude, you're like a week late. The ARFCOMers already were all over this last week. The US State Department is not allowing any .gov contracts to this exporter (Rosoboronexport). So no more of this stuff to Iraq via Uncle Sam. The US Consumer market is not so curtailed, and Rosoboronexport is not the Wolf commercial ammo exporter to the US anyway.

There is no Wolf shortage (until the President bans ammo imports totally that is!)

The US State Department is not allowing any .gov contracts to this exporter (Rosoboronexport). So no more of this stuff to Iraq via Uncle Sam.

That might be good news for the consumer. If Uncle Sam (probably a large customer) stops ordering, wolf might step up exports to the civi market to keep the numbers up. Could mean a drop in prices from Wolf. Could also mean a rise from other manufacturers if they devote capacity to the displaced govt orders.

My thoughts as well. This could be good for us. In fact, I recently saw a sale for 7.62x39 (1000 rnds) for $150, can't remember where though.

Do any of you all really think that if they ban ammo from Russia, that they won't go ahead and ban all imported ammo at the same time? These guys don't give a rats ass about whether or not you can get a good deal on ammo. They do not want you to get a good deal. They want to outlaw all ammo sales, that way they don't have to take your gun rights away from you. You just won't be able to fire them and they will be worthless.

Please show me where the president can create a ban on anything. He can make suggestions to someone in Congress to initiate a bill.
He can't ban anything because he can't write laws. Just like he can't ban guns and would need Congress both the Senate and the House to pass it.

Could someone please explain what the hell's going on?

After reading this thread I went to Ammoman.com and guess what? 1000 rounds of wolf is now $219! It was $209 a month ago, and under $200 six months ago. Gas is going down nationwide, so what gives? It this just a case of price gouging?(And I don't mean to pick on ammoman. Is seems pretty consistant everywhere)

Yup, price gouging. Academy was/is selling their x39 for $2.99 a box, probably not at a loss either. Now that metals and fuel is taking a nosedive, people are still riding the wave and preying upon the unaware.

Which begs the question...what is the wholesale price of Wolf from the factory?

mr. scott: The president may issue Executive Orders that are law upon being signed. As long as they do not directly impinge on other laws such as The Constitution, they are force of law. Currently, we have the Clinton XO ordering destroyed surplus ammo instead of resold. The import barrel ban from foreign parts kits. The nonsproting ammo (Norinco) ban. Etc.
Anything that is not specifically protected is at risk of being banned by the POTUS signing a piece of paper and saying "Make it so".
