A. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000. (seven hundred thousand)

B. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.

C. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (US Dept. of Health &Human Services)



Then think about this:

A. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000. (eighty million)

B. The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500.

C. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0000188.
Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.


FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

...and sometimes "one doctor" is one too many.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

Proves one thing to me. Even with all these guns, we can't seem to be able to protect ourselves from our doctors.

This ignorant and gross misuse of statistics has been floating around the Web for years and been throoughly debunked many, many times. Many of those times have been on TFL, so if you're interested, do a search there for any of the several threads about it.

Nevertheless, like somthing that just won't flush, it keeps coming back up to the top.

It's stupid misinformation that leads to stupid assumptions by stupid people who hire stupid lawyers to file stupid frivolous lawsuits against doctors who are held on a tight leash by stupid insurance companies so stupid people can make a bunch of money from malpractice settlements.

I pray for the day when all medical practitioners will actually unite and go on a country-wide strike for a day or two...oh the chaos!

Apparently Agony hasn't personally been or had a loved one harmed by one of these so called harmless doctors. I am against frivolous lawsuits as much as the next guy, But just as you and I are held accountable for our action's. Doctor's, and medical personnel should be too. It's pretty sad when our second amendment right is thrown by the wayside, while everyday a doctor or some other medical genius brings harm to someone. I am not saying that all Doctors/medical personnel are to blame., but the one's who are, more than make up for the damage that could be done by a lawful citizen being able to legally carry a handgun to protect themself.

With that being said. It's seems as though that 4v50 Gary was the only one who got it. This post was meant as a joke, but with knuckleheads just dieing to call someone/thing STUPID!!! Maybe they should know who, and what they are talking about before they make such statement's.



EDIT: The day a national Doctor strike take's place is the day that they should all be prosecuted as criminals. I know as a 22 year veteran Firefighter, that the oath I took to protect the people, and their property is much more important than how much money I put in my pocket.
