I don't think I've ever started a threadhttp://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=176112that got closed, so please by civil. :)

Points I was trying to make:
1. Illinois is a solidly Democratic state at the nationwide level because the IRP is so inept AND the DRP is functional, not from a lack of funding.
2. Illinois is now a Democratic state at the STATE level because IRP is so inept, not from a lack of funding, IN SPITE OF Democratic ineptitude.
3. Since being "moderate" RINOs hasn't worked, IRP leadership is trying to be more like the Eeeevil Democrats...the message ain't working, it's not a lack of funding.
4. IRP can't come up with credible candidates for office. Past candidates have had skeletons in their closet AND anyone semi-respectable has been shredded in the primaries by the IRP and their (unpalatable) "choice" candidate. Yes, IL Republicans eat their own. Again, it's not a lack of funding.

Given these factors, why would I contribute ANYTHING to the Party? More $$$ to shred the non-RINOs?

On being unemployed again: related because the IL job market is lousy if one doesn't want to work in Chicago, which is based on employers adding jobs to the state, which IS related to politics (taxes, regulations, zoning, etc.). I've been leaning on the wife to move for ~3 years; I'm seriously looking at Tennessee (and I won't be bringing any "Chicago values" other than my accent :neener: )
