I purchased an older gentleman's reloading setup from his estate. Lot's and Lot's of equipment but also over a 1000 different reloads (various rifle calibers) and over 50 boxes of shotshells.

Anyway, I pulled all of the rifle shells. I have around 500 of the older roundtip 180 grain Remington Corelokts of which some are a little discolored (lead/copper oxidation). Will tumbling in cornhusk clean bullets up to some degree?

They clean up just like brass cases.

Just be sure you don't put in so much weight as to overload your tumbler, which is fairly easy to do when tumbling bullets.

A little bit of Flitz metal polish in the media will also help -- the paste Flitz includes a tarnish preventative which is nice. Premix with a spoon in a half cup of your media before adding to the tumbler media.

I assume you mean corn cob right?

Another option to Flitz is Nu-Finish auto polish or just about any liquid auto polish like Kit, Eagle, Mcguires, ect. They all will clean your brass and depart a wax/polish to prevent tarnish.

Why? Do you think they will shoot better?
If they are corroded, toss them. If they are discolored, who cares?
