Someone, on this site I think, said they use Zilla Brand Lizard Litter in their tumbler to clean brass. Has anyone out there had experience with it? And how does it compare to other media, walnut or corn cob for example. I looked at the Zilla web site and saw a litter made from Aspen. Is that the one to use? I'll appreciate any info you can provide. I now use corn cab media and it works OK, but always willing to try something that may work better.

Have you tried stainless steel media? Pins are reusable provided that you don't lose them and all you need is a squirt of dish soap and a tiny bit of Lemishine. Results are way better compared to any other media I've seen.

I've used Zilla and it works OK. It does not leave a bright finish. It leaves a "satin" finish. I switched to corncob because I want a brighter finish.

Best dry media is 20/40 corn, unless you have very dirty/muddy cases, where you need nut shell media. 20/40 will not fill the primer pocket or plug the flash hole.
You can buy 40# of 20/40 corn for about $25-30.
You don't need to add anything to it.

I use Zillas I use the ground walnut hulls.I cut paper shop towels in strips and dampen with mineral spirits helps with the dust.Change when they get dirty. Some use used dryer sheets

After using corn cob for years I just a few weeks ago switched to crushed walnut lizard litter. It is not Zilla brand, it's fine and does not plug flash holes. I like it better than corn cob. Brass is bright enough for me. I put a couple caps of car polish in and dryer sheets to cut the dust.

Check a sand blast supply dealer if one is close to you. I buy 12/20 screen size cushed walnut shells and add a little case polish.

I use lizard litter and a cap of Nu finish wax. Low cost, and works perfectly for my needs.
