I installed a new (extended) ejector on my DW Pointman as the old one was loose and seemed to be worn. I tightened the old one by removing it and peening the front post so the roll pin fit snug. This helped but the rear post still sat up a little. The brass still ejected.

Anyway, the new one is in and nice and tight. The front tip of the ejector is longer than the original. Do I just leave it as is and see how it works? Is there any relation between the length of the ejector and how far the spent brass fly?

I fed several empty cases through the gun and they eject manually.

I can post a pic if that helps.

Thanks!

if it is an extended ejector then it will be longer. Shoot it and see if there are ejection problems then decide if it needs any adjustment to length. Manual cycling will not always show problems.
The extractor tension regulates how far the brass will fly. the ejector length determines when the spent case will start it's journey out of the gun.
