I have a Benelli Nova 12 gauge. I already have a full choke tube, but want an extra full or super full turkey choke tube. In your experience, what brand and model choke tube delivers the densest and most uniformed pattern. I am looking at MAD Calls and Lotham. The tubes say they are for turkey, but I do not know that they will be any better than my full tube. As a note, I will be shooting Remington 3.5" #4 shot through the tube.

Just a thought..

have you tried the stock tube with different sizes of Hevi-shot?? Might hit the patterning board first.

My friend has an 870 and uses a Terminator (I think that's it). Good for LONG range.

Redneck makes a fine suggestion, try what you have first on the patterning board and see what kind of results you get. I killed my first turkey at about 30 yards with a standard full choke and #6 3" Turkey load.

I've since bought a dedicated turkey choke from Hunter Specialties that patterns even better and I'm very pleased with it. Very reasonably priced too...think I spent about 20 bucks on it.

You have what you need in chokes, get a couple turkey loads and pattern them.

Winchester's high density loads and Hevishot are worth trying....

My experience has been squeezing long 3.5" 12ga shot loads thru ultra tight chokes is a waste of time. Prolly the standard full tube is more than enough. The 10ga , however , CAN use a "turkey" tube -sometimes!;)

I know that my full tube will work fine, but I want an extra or super full turkey tube for even more tightness. What brands do you guys recommend?

I have a Hastings .675. It works well with my load of choice. Second best load does about the same with a Remington Full(.690" nominal) as the tighter Hastings.

Carlson's is a class act without the big money prices. The .700 Light Full tube here from Carlson's works for pass shooting and big Canadas over dekes. Super polished, doesn't loosen on its own.

I've read that, with the extra pressure put on x-full chokes by the Hevi-Shot materials, you don't want to put Hevi-Shot through an x-full choke unless it's been rated for Hevi-Shot. Can anyone confirm on this one?

That said, I bought a Cabela's Hevi-Shot choke for $30 and have been very happy with the patterning. Looks to me like they make them for the Benellis.

With normal hi-velocity shot, I used to use a Star-Dot x-full and got really nice, tight patterns with my 870.

I am looking at www.natchezss.com at the Carlson's and Hastings tubes but cannot tell whether they will work in my Benelli Nova 12. In particular, I am looking at models XF07057P, XF07058P, and XF07059P for the Carlson's. Will any of these work in my gun? Also, what does Baikal/Tru-Choke mean and how is it different from other chokes? I will probably buy one of the Carlson's if it will fit due to the inexpensive price ($30) and positive comments.
