So I started reloading earlier this year and am currently loading 44 mag and 45 ACP. I plan on doing some rifle loading later on. I have a RCBS Turret press and am very happy with it. I like the quality control I have with it.

I have six stations and am using 4. I bought extra turret heads so switching back and forth is easy. I have the uniflow set up on a lee single stage that I also use for decapping when I'm not reloading. I'm happy with my set up because I can check the primer seat when I move the shell from the turret to the single stage and the charge when I move it back.

I can load about 50 cartridges in 30 to 45 minutes once I'm set up depending if i have to reload the primer tube, which is fine with me but if I could add a bullet feed and feed tube it would make it an easier process. I like the looks of the hornady feed die and the price. I don't like the availability (can't find any in stock). I've looked around for options and don't see many so far.

What are my options? Can't justify spending a few hundred dollars for a full blown bullet feed with the volume I am producing and I don't think it would work very well with rotating the turret head. I have a friend with a dillon progressive if I want to crank out a thousand 45 rounds but really don't need to.

Thoughts?

If I understand your situation correctly, having a caddy simply hold the bullets right next to the press might be all the help you would need. Sort of like the tray in this photo...

Just getting them "up" off the table top and into closer position might be enough.

That is pretty much how I am set up now, which isn't bad at all, but I was hoping to find a die to feed them. It would be a small improvement, but it would speed things up.

I might be able to reposition the caddy and have one for shells and one for bullets (like is shown in your picture. Now that might work pretty well. Will try and let you know.

Thanks,
J
