So I started reloading earlier this year and am currently loading 44 mag and 45 ACP. I plan on doing some rifle loading later on. I have a RCBS Turret press and am very happy with it. I like the quality control I have with it.
I have six stations and am using 4. I bought extra turret heads so switching back and forth is easy. I have the uniflow set up on a lee single stage that I also use for decapping when I'm not reloading. I'm happy with my set up because I can check the primer seat when I move the shell from the turret to the single stage and the charge when I move it back.
I can load about 50 cartridges in 30 to 45 minutes once I'm set up depending if i have to reload the primer tube, which is fine with me but if I could add a bullet feed and feed tube it would make it an easier process. I like the looks of the hornady feed die and the price. I don't like the availability (can't find any in stock). I've looked around for options and don't see many so far.
What are my options? Can't justify spending a few hundred dollars for a full blown bullet feed with the volume I am producing and I don't think it would work very well with rotating the turret head. I have a friend with a dillon progressive if I want to crank out a thousand 45 rounds but really don't need to.
Thoughts?
