I ordered my #8 Tyler T-grip in polished aluminum from them over the phone on 09-25-06. Their website says 2-4 weeks for delivery.

I called them on 10-23-06 to check on the status, and some guy told me all the #8's were just completed and would be shipped that night, or by the next day.

So I call them again on 10-31-06 because I still don't have the grips, and a female tells me that all the grips they have are shipping later in the day. But she says they can't look up if mine was in the group because she would have to go through all the boxes and that would take a long time. So she tells me to call back tomarrow (11-01-06) because they'll have the list from shipping them, and easily look up my name. So I say OK.

I call today, 11-01-06, and there is a recording saying that they are closed for the day working on orders, and they will be open on Thursday 11-02-06. So here it is 37 calender days (27 business days) later and still no T-Grips.

The product might be good, but the service so far in my opinion has been poor to borderline terrible. I'm almost to the PO'ed point, and I think I may demand to speak with a supervisor/boss if one exists there. Just wanted to pass along my experience with Tyler so far, I'm sure there are others who were happy with their service, but I'm not one of them.

I really hope this works out for you - since I mailed them a check yesterday. I think a T-Grip will make my trusty S&W M-10 snubby even more of a pleasure to shoot.

Tyler 'T'.

If I remember right, the Tyler 'T' grip spacer was an idea by Melvin Tyler. That Mr. Tyler is no longer with us and the distribution of his product is carried on by members of his family. The 'T' grip is an excellent product and fills an admittedly small niche in the firearms accessory field.

Maybe the family does not have an existing inventory covering all of the various frame sizes that are available. Could be that they're waiting on production. Whatever, if thats the case, they should have told you that there'd be a wait.

Another product that is worth waiting on and fits well with the Tyler 'T' grip spacer is the Barami Hip-Grip. They work well together, for me, worn weak side appendix or cross draw when seated/driving. The seat belt does not interfere AS MUCH. Both are on my wife's Cobra, my J-frame, and RB short barrel K frame.

We're all put together differently so what works well for me in a specific situtation may not be good for you.

Anyhow, they're both Good Stuff.

salty.

I bought mine from a member here(brand new) for a song but if that wasn't a choice, I would purchase from D&J Gun Repair on Ebay. The only reason I didn't buy from him is he was all out of J-Frame grips.

Bob,

I ordered a T-grip on 9/14/06 and it just arrived today. Give it another week and it will probably show. I was getting pretty impatient myself with much the same phone questions and answers you got.

I get the impression its not their main line of work and they may just be doing it for the love of the sport. Mine fits and looks great FWIW.

They make them in runs. Out of a very small shop using local help like teenagers. But hey, they make a SW wheel gun look very classy.

FWIW I ordered a number 1 (I think thats the # for the J frame), and it only took a week and half from telephone order to my doorstep. This was just last month, btw.

I have bought from them twice, and received the merchandise both times within 10 days.I just ordered a couple more this week, and I guess we will see what happens this time.....

Got off the phone with them about an hour ago. They said it shipped "this afternoon", so we'll see what happens. I'll give them till Weds next week till I call them again (if it doesn't arrive). I won't be holding my breath:rolleyes:

Ordered (5) T-grips a few months ago...took about six weeks to get them...three were for Colt "D" frame, and two for S&W 'K" frame.

Took about six weeks to get them. Quality, same as always, even comparing to one I have that is at least 30 yrs old...

Visited with the lady that answered the phone for a few minutes. As I recall, she told me that the business was quite small now, and I believe she said that her husband does almost all the mfg himself...and she helps. She seemed really proud that they were keeping the T-grip "alive". I further recall that they usually made the things after they recieved an order, unless the item was "on hand".

Hopefully, delivery will improve. I think the T-grip is still one of the best accessories out there...I used one on a service weapon (M-10) back in the late 60's, early 70's...

Their service was very good some years back but things do change. Back then, very quick service and even received a biblical verse with the ones I got.

Nothing yet

Called yesterday (Weds) and no one was there, so I left a message.

I got a message today (Thurs) on my phone saying they shipped last Thursday, and to call them back if I don't have them by Monday.

Hopefully now its just the Post Office being slow, but it still remains that the order was placed Sept 25th 2006, and today its Nov 9th 2006, and no Tyler T-grip in hand.

:( :banghead: :( :banghead:

I got my T-Grip today

2 weeks and 1 day after I mailed my check to get a shiny black unit for my S&W Model 10 snubby, so less than 2 weeks after they got the order.:)

I have ordered four different ones from D&J on Ebay over the past few months, and have received each within a week of paying, and that is using his standard shipping option instead of the expedited.
