just be sure to get the Uberti rather than the Dixie- its made by Palmetto and sucks.
Our uberti was perfect except for the final polish and shaping of the stocks. The action is as good as it gets on percussion revolver.
We got this one from Dixie. It hit the door one day later after traveling from Tennessee to Texas.

Looks pretty good. I have a blued Uberti Walker that is too pretty to actually shoot for the limited use I would probably make of it. A bit irrational but there it is.

Did the kit come assembled? How much work (deburring, fitting, etc.) did it require?

Looks like you just left yours in the white and did some polishing...I wonder what would work towards giving it the "antique" finish that Cimmaron and others are now doing...

Just ordered your book, even though I have been into BP off and on since 1963. It's still fun...

Bates, the owner, has yet to settle on a finish. I don't know how cimarron comes by the antique finish but plum brown can produce some nice, aged results too.

There was a bit of finish sanding- polish needed on the metal but nothing particularly extensive. The grips were shaped pretty well but a little rough. the revolver was fully asssembled with a smooth action and light trigger pull. It is everybit the equal of the finished, full sized uberti revolvers made during the last couple of years and a bit better than some of the smaller pocket and pocket police guns.

Thank you Gentlemen, I dont know what I am going to do with it; I just know I have to have one. Who can resist such a huge historical firebreathing smoke belching mankiller? Of course this is just the beginning- in five or six months I am going to have to buy a dragoon, then a year from now a navy, then....well, you get the idea.
