Just pulled it for first time this year, and there is a creaking/shuffling/some kinda sound emanating as I pull - I cannot tell for sure where the sound is coming from, but I *think* its from the spot where the two strings cross in the middle (compound bow), where there is a plastic piece that they glide through - so, is there some kind of lube or something that will fix this - a deer would hear it within 20 yards I think with no wind.

My three step fix.

1) go to the drug store or farmers market.
2) buy some beeswax
3) lube your bow.

Put some wax on the string, too. No need to lube the serving or cables, just the catgut and arm the slide rides on.

You could wax the string and get another cable slide. They are cheap at wal-mart or the local store. Get them creaks and squeaks out now before you go out hunting. Don't forget to lube the modules. Tettra Lube works great but smells like hell. I wouldn't use it for a hunting bow.

On that note, my 1995 PSE G-Force is still shooting like a champ. I had the PSE folks here put new string and cables on it last year. Lubed up the cams, added string leaches (great for taking out noise/vibrations) and went to a Tru Glo vibe stablizer instead of my old hydraulic one. Also, went to Gold Tip XT hunter arrows and they are flying like a dart.

Needless to say, I'm ready for Friday!!! :D
