All,
My friend has an old top break revolver, approx. 40 caliber, center-fire. There are no identifying manufacturer's marks or serial #. Please see the attached image.
There appears to be one or more proof marks as follows:
(1) "ELG" with a surmounted five-pointed star all inside an oval.
(2) separate "Z" with a similar five-pointed star (no oval).
Both markings occur on the rear face of the cylinder, outside of the ejector star.
Does anyone have any idea of who made the revolver and when?
Thanks,
Eric Berman
