"US Chopper and Fighter Shot Down by Iraqis" !!!

Damn...I just read a report that both a US Black Hawk chopper and a F-18 Hornet were shot down, in separate incidents, by Iraqis!

Yeah even the losers in life hit the bulls eye once in a long while That said, the "truth" of what really brought these two down may be a while in coming out. Unfortunately, what ever it really was that brought them down, some of the good guys bought it... may they rest in peace.

FA-18 may have been Blue-on-Blue. Speculation is it was a Patriot that locked up the wrong target. Film at eleven.

Leatherneck, that's what been buzzing in my head. It's mighty hard to lock onto a Hornet with conventional missile systems without almost everything in the cockpit hollering and lighting up alerting the pilot to deploy countermeasures.

There's a report that a Patriot took it down, and at Mach 5 or so with the ability to maneuver, there's not much chance of escaping one or of ejecting.
