Just came across one of these look a lot like the old Iver J top hinge style ,nickel plated with black grips with the US insignia on them. Has a ser # on the trigger guard ,#31303 I know they can't be worth much ,it was my deceased Father in laws and the MIL just found it. some rust that cleaned dup pretty well aside from where the plating is gone eon the one side a little . seems to lock up and index well . Most of what I found on my searches were the top hinged models ,I have an old mother of Pearl gripped 32 like that that was my Grand Dads ,but that ones not really safe to shoot anymore ,Any info on thise one? ~~GH1950

The US revolvers were made by Iver Johnson from 1910 until 1935, and like Iver Johnson, the true serial number is under the left grip. If there is a Letter prefix present it will be there and if there is a letter prefix, that could make a lot of difference in the age of the gun. Post that number and letter if present and a little more information such as flat mainspring or coil, also your post is a little unclear, is it or isn't ia break top then I can tell you more about it.
