I recently purchased a HK USP Tactical. I would like to install night sights on it, but I am told sights for the standard full size USP won't fit on the Tactical. This info comes from Trijicon and Meprolite web sites. I also have a full size USP and am not seeing a difference in the dovetail measurements. Meprolite does have adjustable sights for the Tactical, but I don't want adjustables on a CCW. Does anybody know why sights for a USPf won't fit a Tactical?

This is my first post, maybe this should be under "Gunsmithing"?

1st, welcome to the board! ;)

2nd - for more detail, go check out hkpro.com...great resource for HK info. But, as I understand it, the standard sights won't work if you decide to suppress your Tac

Good luck & congrats on the new HK!

Hi, welcome. I don't know for sure whether the regular USP sights will fit your tactical, but I think they do. My Tac had night sights installed by the previous owner, and he included all of the packaging, so I can tell you that Trijicon model #HK06 will fit your Tac, and on the Trijicon packaging it does say "Trijicon 3 dot self luminous tritium for HK USP pistols."

It sounds like that model number fits both the Tac and the full size USPs. I have heard that the USP compacts take a different sight.

As for using a Tac for concealed carry, that is a whole 'nother issue :D

ETA: I have called Trijicon a couple times to ask about other products. They have always been very helpful. If you want to be sure you should give them a call.

Sights for the USP fullsize fit and function fine on the Tac - the dovetails are the same, and they shoot to pont of aim.

They won't work if you mount a suppressor, obviously, which is where the issue lies.
