Went redneck shooting out in the desert west of Utah Lake....Caught up with CrudeGT from this forum and a friend of mine. We had a good time, shooting everything from .22lr's to .357, 9mm, 40, .45, and 12ga. I shot a handful of photos, here goes nothin:

My friend, EZ with my .357. Keltec Sub2000 in 9mm is his carbine of choice. Its a handy little gun!

This is my friend, "Blinky". I found Blinky about 10 years ago in the Arizona desert. He's followed me though 5 moves and three states.....and has been shot with innumerbale different calibers...although the worst injustice Blinky has suffered was being crammed under a tire on my old jeep to provide traction when I was stuck on a Texas beach.....

Utah lake. Looks pretty, but quite polluted. Yes, it rained a little on us....

We had a pretty good time for sure. It was nice to get out and bang away at all kinds of junk I found in my cabinents (the most fun was some foaming carpet cleaner and aersol deoderant!). My Taurus PT145 performed flawlessly...although the Promags were kinda easy to drop while firing, causing a couple FTFeeds. Great range mags, but I think I need a spare factory mag for CCW.
I punched a few slugs out of my 12ga...ouch! First time ever firing slugs...accurate enough (minute of torso), man I'd hate to be the poor schmuck downrange of that much lead....
XD40 (Crude's) impressed me. Nice unit.

I know exactly where you were shooting. I even recognize that pile of rocks. :D

Looks like a good time! I'm going to be in Utah for the first time next week. Too bad I won't be able to take advantage of the public shooting places y'all have. Business trip, not bringing any guns.

Shoot well!

Did you pick up and haul out the stuff you had "found in your cabinets" to shoot?

Sort of mexican carry...there is a holster in that picture somewhere.

The junk we could find anyways...Its hard to tell the difference in your own junk and the junk that was already there..the place is a mess.

Yeah, Utah Lake is disgusting. But at least you found a good, safe, clean activity to do there. :D

*sigh* I wish I didn't get screwed out of 99% of all of the shooting that goes on around here. :(

Wes

The idea of starting a cleanup day out there crossed my mind.

I wish I didn't get screwed out of 99% of all of the shooting that goes on around here

I get screwed out of everything on my schedule.

jason it was great to meet ya. Sorry you couldn't make it up for the weekend at Strawberry Res. It was very fun. But Thursday was a blast.

Rusty, i;ve been trying to get my hair back for years, then I found razor, and now there is no more fight. But I did learn the bad part of a shaved head, after 8 hours of shooting at Strawberry, my head resembles a dried up burnt tomato. It sucks, but was well worth it.

Crude,
Damn good meeting you, too.
I defintely want to get together and do some more shooting, or beer drinking and bsing.. Might go to Holiday Gun Club later in the month, I'll keep you apprised.
