I am convinced that the Utah approach should be our response to the calls for school safety. We must reframe the question from Obama's question of "what can we do about gun violence?" to "how can we improve school safety?" The first question will be answered in the eyes of the general public with restrictions of firearms rights. The second question lends to the answer of arming teachers and armed guards. How we frame the debate and utilize public sentiment will be important. That is, if the pols haven't already got their own program separate from whatever Americans want.
