I know nothing about knives other than how to sharpen them well. I bought an UZI knife for what I think is cheap. It is a ZF-16 Defender.
Do you folks think they are exceptionaly nice. A friend of a friend took one apart and found some very nice looking enginnering designs like fiber or teflon bearing washers etc... I'm open to bubble bursting if needed

I edc carried the Defender and it served me well for years.

It is certainly an interesting design and the UZI brand has a certain coolness factor to it.

I love the blade shape.

That being said, it is pretty heavy.

The blade didn't seem to hold a sharp edge for very long.

For me, the thumb stud was real slow and difficult to deploy open with one hand.

The last straw was that the screws from carrying clip kept falling out.

Now, I have the Spyderco Tenancious and will never look back.

I bought a Spyderco Persistance for my GF's father recently. He really likes it. :)

No, but then it's a question of perspective so my standard being the Sebenza doesn't have to be your's or anyone else's.

If I'm not mistaken, the same folks that make the S&W knives make UZI, or was it the same guys that made S&W watches made UZI watches....

somewhere in the off-topic wares category the two brands meet.....

Either way, saw them, and they seem alright, but the ergonomics left something to be desired. I'm not a fan of large handles, nor flashy design. My knife tastes are pretty old fashioned as far as things go. The fanciest I have is a late 90s Benchmade Panther, which has teflon washers in the handle, but I keep it well lubed anyways so when opened it just feels like the blade moves itself into place.
