I won this Taurus in an auction recently. I was after the Smith but the Taurus was part of the lot so I would like to sell the Taurus. It appears to be NIB with the cleaning brush and half the warrantee card. I think it was probably made in the '70s or maybe '80s judging by the look of the box (numbered to the gun) and the price of $89.95. (the serial number is 772286) Anyway, I saw a couple of blued ones on auction sites and the sellers said the 3 inch was a rare barrel length. I was a little shocked to see one that had surface rust and S&W grips on it up to about $225 with 26 people bidding on it! Thanks for your input.

First off it's not a good idea to put the full serial number, is you did that, on the internet.

It might be wise to call Taurus Customer Service at number at 1-800-327-3776 and give them the full serieal number. They can then tell you when the gun was manufactured.

According two several sources. 3 or 4 inch barrel. 3 inch barrel was discontinued in 1998. Weight: 34 ounces. One caveat. Since the barrel is only 3 inches long take about 2 ounces of that.

At 100%:$290; 98%:$215; 95%:$155:90%$120
Add $15 dollars for nickel plated ones.

Another way to look at it:
New in box:$285; Excellent condition:$195; Very good:$135; Good:$110

Add $45 for nickel.

Thanks very much for your reply!
As for the serial number, I know some people seem to think this is a bad idea to post. I've been in discussions on other forums about this and not one person could come up with an instance where this ever became a problem for anyone. So anyway, I stopped worrying about it.
