Vanilla extract works great as a cover scent but im not sure about its use as an atractent. When i was younger i used to go through farmers fields after they harvested corn and pick up the stuff that fell out of the combines. I would then shuck it by hand. It saved me alot of money over the years. I would then place my bait piles and put some vanilla on it to cover scent from handeling it. Worked like a charm.
We use it as a cover scent; have had good luck with it for years. It is an unalarming scent that is natural instead of somthing that is a chemical. Usually use it when bow hunting or when scouting, but not for attracting deer though. Try it.
