Varget and 6.5 Swede

Anyone tried Varget in the 6.5 Swede?.

In my rifles, a M700 and M70, the 6.5 Swede likes slow burning powders: 4350 and AA2700.

Varget is slightly slower than IMR 4064, do you get good velocities and good accuracy?

Varget is quite versatile and can give you velocity and accuracy, especially with the lighter bullets. When you use 140gr and up the Swede responds better to a slower powder as you mentioned. Rel-19 and Rel-22 as well as AA3100 & 4831 make great loads for it. Go to Hodgden's site.

Who am I to disagree with that statement? I use VV N160 and RL22 with the 139 - 142gr bullets and drive them at 2900+ fps.

I use varget in my M96, because its what I had on hand at the time and worked great.

I am loading a Hornady 129-grain SP over 35.5 grains of Varget in PMC brass for my Husquvarna M38 carbine and it's grrrr-reat.
