Is there a faq out there that covers this plain and simple? I'm looking to find out the difference between all of the 122gr, 123gr, 124gr, etc hollow points, FMJ, and whatever else is comming in from the russian factories. And also wondering if there are differences between the 122gr bullets used by wolf, herters, etc.

I've searched the forum, and searched the web, no luck so far.

I have read about the elusive 124gr. 8m3 bullets, and the yugo m67 FMJ bullets.

any insights?

I put little thought into the minutiae of 7.62x39 selection. My insight is buy the one you can get and/or can get cheapest. IMO, that's the beauty of the AK. I prefer FMJ and sealed primer, but have new factory Wolf HP, too. You may be thinking these pics?

I was more interested in the actual differences between the bullets that are in the available ammo, such as which might have the enclosed based jackets, which are basically a FMJ with a hole drilled in the top, which have the empty space at the tip of the FMJ, etc.

And also interested in the different bullets, 122, 123, 124gr from different companies, whether if it is a 122 from one, if it will be pretty much the same as a 122 from another, etc.
